Age-Defying Benefits of Vitamin C

Age-Defying Benefits of Vitamin C

This is the new star of anti-aging. A brightening and antioxidant, vitamin C is taking over our skincare products to give us a new youthful appearance and a glow like no other.

Vitamin C is a powerful active ingredient for beautiful skin and helps to preserve its youthfulness. It helps prevent signs of upcoming damage, in addition to protecting the health of the skin and correcting previous damages. Used in dermo-cosmetic care, it is found in formulas under the name of ascorbic acid.

From the age of thirty, the use of vitamin C products is appropriate to prevent signs of upcoming damage. It ensures the longevity of skin cells, delaying the appearance of wrinkles. How does it work? Thanks to its antioxidant benefits, vitamin C effectively neutralizes the free radicals responsible for skin aging. It strengthens the skin cells, which are thus more resistant to harmful external elements. Result: the life span of the cells is extended and the skin glows.

From the age of fifty, the use of vitamin C products helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. At the beginning of menopause, the skin undergoes a significant loss of collagen: up to 30% during the first five years and 2% during the following years. Located in the dermis, collagen is nevertheless an essential protein for the skin's youthful look. It guarantees the regeneration of tissues, thus ensuring the firmness and elasticity of the skin. Also, when it is in insufficient quantity, the skin becomes thinner, dull and wrinkles appear.

The action of products enriched with vitamin C counters this process. Indeed, among its many benefits, vitamin C can stimulate collagen production in the skin. Produced in sufficient quantities, collagen corrects previous damage by strengthening the dermal tissues. The result: wrinkles are reduced and the skin is tightened.

Finally, with age, pigment spots appear on the skin. Known as "age spots", or hyperpigmentation, these brown stigmata are the result of melanin deregulation. The uneven distribution of melanin on the surface of the skin causes the appearance of spots or skin discoloration. This can affect both aging skin and women-of-color. Once again, vitamin C products are effective. They regulate the production of melanin and thus prevent, or even correct, the appearance of these spots. Result: the skin tone is smooth and glowing.

Vitamin C serums, masks and facial sprays
As you can see, the ideal is to use vitamin C as a treatment. In most cases, an on-going skin care regimen is essential in maintaining and combating signs of aging.

Rich in antioxidants, vitamin C serums help correct specific skin problems such as dehydration, pigmentation spots, wrinkles, acne and, more importantly, they bring comfort, health and youth to all skin types. Dry, normal, sensitive skin, ... They all benefit from vitamin C. Depending on their conditions, vitamin C products will help protect the skin from the signs of aging and, if necessary, correct the damage caused by harmful elements. Serums, which are more highly dosed than creams, can contain from 10 to 15% pure vitamin C. You can mix your serum with your day cream and apply it at night or in the morning. Vitamin C can also be added to grain-free scrubs and express masks. Apply your mask, leave it on for 1 to 15 minutes and rinse.

There are also tonic sprays with vitamin C, they adjust the skin's pH and removes any remaining oil or dirt from the skin, prepping the skin for your favorite serum or moisturizer.

Make sure to choose effective vitamin C products, for instance our serums contains Magnesium ascorbyl phosphate (MAP), a stable precursor of vitamin C. It completes a constant delivery of vitamin C, lightens the skin and support collagen synthesis. With our amazing combination, the serums are easily absorbed into the skin with no irritation and instant effects.

How to apply vitamin C products?

For those with sensitive skin, opt for a specific treatment with an eye care product. For example, apply vitamin C to your dark circles or crow's feet. Space out the applications to avoid undesirable effects: 1 day out of 2 or 1 day out of 3. If you want to test your skin before buying a cream or serum, apply lemon juice to your skin and rinse. It is very rich in vitamin C. If it tingles, it's a bad sign. Last recommendation: store your vitamin C treatment in the fridge, so you can enjoy a little tightening effect that is perfect for tightening your features.

A serum is a highly concentrated treatment. Its molecular weight allows it to penetrate the skin in depth and in particular to the dermis, the skin's constituent tissue. While the skin is made up of three layers - the epidermis on the surface, the dermis forming the second layer and the hypodermis - it is the dermis that contains the collagen responsible for the skin's firmness and elasticity. The benefits of the vitamin C serum will thus be able to act in-depth and in a targeted way to counteract skin aging.

The vitamin C serum does not replace the moisturizer, it acts as a complement. One cannot be used without the other. While the serum acts on the dermis (second layer), the moisturizing cream works on the epidermis (first layer). Serum and cream thus form the winning duo of protected, healthy skin.

Conclusion

Although it is not possible to stop the progression of the biological clock, simple treatment can be implemented to slow down its progression: constant use of vitamin C serums seems to be an excellent solution to delay the appearance of imperfections and improve the appearance of the skin.

However, please note the importance of following a proper lifestyle, ensuring that the body is properly hydrated by drinking plenty of water and following a healthy, balanced diet.
